Ever wondered how hard it was to earn your score on an AP exam? College Board has released their annual AP Score distributions for 2024 .
This information is being updated on a rolling basis, but the percentages should be pretty stable at this point.
The AP U.S. Government and Politics test showed the greatest increase in 5's, with the percentage doubled from 2023, up to 24% from just 12.8% last year. One-fourth of students taking the new AP Precalculus exam earned 5's, though this will likely change as this test grows in popularity. Far fewer 5's were given out on the AP Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism exam, down to 27% compared with 33.6% in 2023.
It will be interesting to see how these trends shift as more AP Exams go digital in 2025.
